You were probably first welcomed to St Andrew's church by our Rector, Bob Gillies (pictured right), who greets people outside the church in all weathers. He is supported by a team of volunteer 'Welcomers'. Two of them are on duty each Sunday morning and can be identified by their name badges and the fact that they're the ones who say 'hello' and shake your hand.
These 'Welcomers' are there to help you feel at home in our church, make sure you get service sheets for the morning's worship and that you feel free to choose to sit wherever you're most comfortable. They're also there to answer any questions you might have; they wear badges so you can spot them easily.
If a 'Welcomer' has forgotten to wear a badge or left it at home, and you have any questions, just ask any member of the congregation. We're a friendly lot and a small prize will be awarded to console anyone who gets a grumpy or unhelpful response!
In due course, you might like to think about joining our team of 'Welcomers' who serve on a rota system. Just give me a call!
