The Church Magazine
The Net
If you want a bird's eye view of the current life of St. Andrew's Church perhaps you should consider looking at the latest issue of the Net, our church magazine. A glance through its pages gives a snapshot of the many and varied activities carried out within the congregation.
In a typical month the Net might contain book reviews, a Young Church page and possibly reports on the Mothers' Union or the Choir There will be a letter and information notices from our Rector and a list of Bible references for the benefit of the Readers and the wider congregation. There might also be a personal account of an individual's experience working overseas or nearer home. The Net tries to reflect the endeavours and talents of the congregation.
The Net is published monthly in11 issues( July and August are combined). Copy date is usually the second Sunday of each month (except the July/August and January issues), although it is wise to check on the back cover the current magazine in case there is a change of date.
I am always pleased to receive advance notice of interesting meetings, events, fund-raisers etc. to publicise to the congregation at large; although, as Editor, it is my decision as to what should finally be included. However, it is most frustrating to hear of activities and events too late for the final copy date!
As soon as the copy has been organised
into its final format, it is delivered to the Church Office. A band of volunteers
takes over to photocopy, collate and staple and, finally, to distribute the
finished magazine; and my part in the production of the Net is at an end -
until the next time.
